Last week, my grandparents, Helen & Lee, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together. Their anniversary was June 11th. A surprise party was held in their honor on this past Sunday with a bunch of family and friends to congratulate them on so many happy years together. And a surprise it was....
I look up to both of my grandparents in so many ways & appreciate every single thing they have ever done for me. They are such loving, strong & supportive people and I could not be more thankful to have them as my grandparents. I spent so many days of my spoiled childhood at their house surrounded by so many children that my grandmother babysat. I am so thankful to have grown up around so many children & to have my grandmother being the person to babysit me when I was a child. They even managed to deal with me during my roughest of years filled with attitude. They didn't give in to me but managed to keep me in check while still letting me know how much they loved me. I can only hope that I will turn out to be just like them. So... enough with the sentimental stuff now, lol... on to the party....
We all gathered at the Fort Loudon Community Center & waited for the couple to arrive. Jerry, Angie & Justen were in charge of getting them there. They thought that they were going to Justen's cub scout graduation to boy scouts.
So many people pulled together to help make the day a complete success. A special thanks to all who helped make this day so special for them. They were very, very surprised to see so many friends & family members yelling "SURPRISE!"
Just a quick picture of Dylan acting like a goofball at the party. I have so many pictures of friends and family at the party that I am passing on to Grandma & Pap to have to remember their 50th anniversary. However, I am posting just a few of those many below...
