Just Add Water

So it's a extremely hot & humid Friday in August...Dylan loves to play outside but immediately started telling me "hot, hot" as soon as we went outside. I filled up a couple of squirt guns and water balloons and his face lit up. He had the biggest grin on his face when I handed him a bucket of water balloons, lol.

Before when Dylan wanted to play with water balloons, he would say, "Pop a ball," lol. It was pretty cute. However, he quickly picked up the word balloon and now tells you that there is water in there, lol.

He had a blast throwing the water balloons as you can see, lol. Quick side note: Look at
 the crazy hair.  He had
these little curls at the tips.

He's pretty brave and pulls on the balloons A LOT! He actually popped two water balloons in his hands that I somehow managed to catch on video. I'll add it to the bottom of the post when I get a chance to put it up.

Another example of Dylan squeezing the balloons. These balloons are round! I can't believe he didn't pop more of them in his face, lol.

Dylan also had a couple of water guns as well. He spent most of the time spraying the chairs and his own head and face. It was really hot out that day though, lol.

Lauren & Autumn's House

Autumn just celebrated her 5th birthday last Saturday! Happy Birthday Autumn! Her Aunt Kristen & Uncle Jack built her this sandbox for her birthday. Dylan & I visited Lauren & Autumn this week and he got to check out her new sandbox and slip-n-slide.

Dylan has recently become even more obsessed with cameras than he ever was before. It's actually quite hard to even get a picture of him before he runs over to you and says "Me see," lol. He'll always get in a picture with you and say "cheese" though.

Dylan playing in the sandbox. He couldn't have cared less about it at first. That is, until Autumn started playing. Suddenly, he thought it was pretty cool and started scooping sand into a bucket.

Dylan was definitely unsure about the slip-n-slide, lol. He spent most of the time playing in the water that sprayed over it and in the pool at the bottom. Whatever floats your boat little man, lol.

It was funny to watch Dylan observe Autumn. The longer that we were there, the more of a shadow he became, lol. She would run from the sandbox to the slip-n-slide and he would take off after her, lol.

Summer is Great!!!

Little Bald Boy

After I put the last group of videos up of Dylan a year ago, I realized that I don't have very many videos up of him as my cute little bald baby. So I decided to add some more flashback videos...Enjoy!

Ok...this first video was taken with my digital "still" camera. It records video but with no sound and this was before we got our Flip video cameras so it's a silent movie, lol. Dylan is 3 weeks old in this video...so tiny!!

In the next video, Dylan is 9 months old. He was sitting in his high chair entertaining Daddy while Mommy tried to make dinner, lol.

The next video is Dylan's first steps on his own. He had been cruising along everything for some time and barely even holding on. I knew the first steps would be coming soon so I kept my camera with me at all times and recorded just about everything, lol. I was determined to catch his first steps on camera, LOL. Hey...you might be laughing at me...but I succeeded.

And the last video for this post is Dylan standing up on his own without using anything to pull himself up. I was recording him being a goof because he didn't like the grass touching his bare skin back then, ha ha.

I'm going to keep trying to add more and more videos...both old & new. So until next time....

Raystown Lake

Dylan & I woke up Sunday morning to hard rain. I assumed that we were going to stay home instead of going to Raystown. Out of nowhere, the rain stopped so Dylan & I went to wake up Daddy to see if we were going to try to go to the lake or stay home. After thinking it through for a minute, we decided to go to the lake. We quickly got ready and packed up the car and headed out to spend the day at Raystown.

Most Sundays at Raystown are packed with people.  The parking lots are full, the swimming area is packed, and limited areas to set up and hang out for the day.  We are normally camped out on top of a small hill right next to the lake.  This day...there were no people.  There were barely any cars in the parking lot & boats on the water (as you can see from the picture above).  So we set up shop down on the rocky, sandy shore right next to the water.  Dylan was in rock heaven, lol!

Dylan & Grandma getting in the water for a bit. Dylan keeps getting more and more brave every time we go to the lake. He wants to go further, stay in longer, etc. However, when waves roll in and crash, he still gets a little freaked out. He's not a big fan of waves, lol.

Aunt Amanda, Dylan & Grandma playing in the lake. I was surprised at how deep Dylan wanted to go.  One of the times Jeff went out to get on a jet-ski, Dylan decided that he wanted to go too.  He kept trying to get Grandma to take him out that deep. Maybe soon he'll be able to go out and ride with Daddy.

Yay...Rocks!!! Dylan carrying his rocks to the shore. Dylan has a small obsession with rocks. He always has, lol. He loves dropping the rocks back in the water. Dylan wanted all the rocks at the bottom of the lake but was too scared to bend down to pick them up himself, lol.

Earlier in the day, Dylan dropped a big rock in the water and tried to bend down to get it. As soon as he bent down, a wave knocked him off balance and he dove head first into the water but Grandma was there to grab him quickly.  The first thing he said when she picked him up was "My Rock!?!"

Daddy coming back in after taking a jet-ski out for a bit. It turned out to be a gorgeous day out.  The sun was shining & the water was pretty warm.  I went out with Jeff on Amanda's jet-ski later that day and got dunked quite a bit.

Daddy & Dylan playing in the lake. Dylan had a blast playing at the lake! He was so wiped out after playing in the sun & water all day, that he passed out and took an extra nap on the way home, lol.

In Loving Memory of James Faith Sr...

I love and miss you so much, Pap! There are no words for the kind of sadness I feel.  There are so many things to say but no words to express them.  I have so many wonderful memories to keep with me though.  You spoiled me when I was a child and that's what grandfathers are good for. Your house was my favorite place to be as a kid. And every time I came up, you would always let me get a horse out. Or you would send me off into the pasture with one lead line and I'd somehow come back with all the horses... I will miss the long trail rides that you, Dad & I used to take the most.  Pap Jim, I think, was the most excited when I told him that Dylan was on the way. He was so happy to have his first great-grandson. All of his grandchildren & great-grandchildren were spoiled by him in one way or another! We were all very loved...

I miss you so much already but I still have memories to keep with me forever...

Surrounded by Girls

Aunt Joan, Nicole & Baby Kiersten came up to visit us this week. Dylan spent the day hanging out with 4 girls. I know...poor boy right, haha. If the twins would have been with them...it could have been a total of 6 girls, lol. But Dylan loves all the girls, haha. Dylan had a blast playing with Aunt Joan, who always seems to know how to get him wound up and giggling. He chatted like crazy with Nicole and even stopped to say "Hiiiii" to the baby. After soaking up baby time, I grabbed my camera to get a few pictures of the sweet pea. She has grown so much already. Time just seems to fly by. So here are a few adorable pictures of Kiersten.

Kiersten, almost 7 weeks old, sleeping peacefully in Mommy's arms.

Dylan & Aunt Joan playing. Well actually, he was doing the milk thing at the moment, lol. But resumed playing as soon as he was replenished.

Nothing can compare to being curled up & sleeping on Mommy's shoulder!

Aunt Joan & Nicole being amused by some of Dylan's antics, lol.

Uncle Dustin's Birthday Party

Uncle Dustin's birthday was last Friday. This above picture is actually on that day. However, my Mom threw a birthday cookout/party for Dustin's birthday a few days later on that Sunday. Here are a few pictures from his birthday party.

You know you are getting old when the number of candles on your cake are no where near the actual age that you are, LOL. Happy 23rd Birthday Dust!

Dylan playing with some of his cars for a bit. He is really starting to be quite a social butterfly now. He is still shy at first but it usually takes seconds for him to warm up. It helps that Justin & Kennady were there to play with him too!

Great-Grandma Guyer & Dylan hanging out in the kitchen. I'm not sure if it's Grandma's blonde hair or Dylan's orange shirt, but oh dear does his hair look red!

Kennady & Dylan posing for a picture together. Dylan had fun playing with the older kids. He especially loved it when we were all outside running around & playing.

Uncle Dustin got an awesome Eagles hat for his birthday and Dylan, also being an Eagles fan, had to put it on and try it out, ha ha ha!
