Story Time!

Last week, while we were in the area, Dylan & I stopped by Great-Grandpa & Great-Grandma Guyers' house for a few minutes to say hello. Shortly after we got there, the kids that she babysits got off the bus and home from school. Dylan was pretty shy at first but after a few minutes or so and started breaking out of his box, ha ha. This video is of one of the girls reading a book to Dylan. He really liked her! I have never had him sit SO still and so attentive while listening to a story, lol. Just a quick, cute video.

Oh...sorry about being able to hear everything. There were more kids in the room directly behind me so at times it is hard to hear.

Sprinting Down the Hills

Every single day (as long as it's not raining), Dylan & I have to go outside, get some fresh air, and stretch the legs a bit. Dylan could spend the entire day outside if he didn't have to come in for lunch & his nap. He spends hours running all over the yard, exploring anything in his sight, playing with the ball, and (his personal favorite) sprinting down the hills. These are just a couple of recent pictures of Dylan playing outside.

Dylan likes to run up the hill and play "hide-n-seek" behind the pine trees. This is him sitting at the top of the hill, trying to coax me to come chase him. As soon as I get close, he jumps up and runs around the tree, ha ha.

This is Dylan in one of his sprints down the hill. It's a pretty decent size hill. I still get nervous every time. His little legs some how manage to keep moving just fast enough for him to not fall. However, he always looks like he is right on that fine line right between an "all-out" sprint and face planting into the grass. He has taken quite a few falls too but it never bothers him. He gets right back up and keeps going. We are both pretty happy now that the weather is getting warmer so that we can go outside more often and for much longer than we could the past couple of wintery months.

Uh-Oh!

This picture is pretty self-explanatory but I'll provide a slight backdrop to help you laugh a little harder. Dylan's favorite thing to eat for breakfast is still cheerios and bananas but I give him a whole bowl with milk and spoon too. Well, he has been doing this for quite some time now and I knew eventuallly I would end up with a big mess. I am quite impressed it has not happened sooner. There have been small messes...oh yes...but nothing quite compares to the range of destruction this day, ha ha. This picture doesn't quite do the mess any justice but I'll just sum it up by saying that I found cheerios and milk splattered on windows, the door, and it spread the width of the room...by far.

Anyway, I ran to the bathroom real quick and when I came out and took two steps around the corner, this is what I saw. I admit...I was pretty mad at first but had to take the picture so I could laugh at it in a bit, ha ha. So there's a little random Dylan story for you this week, lol.

Have a good weekend!

Chopped!

So a couple weeks ago, I was thinking about cutting my hair. I wanted to cut a decent amount off since the ends were so dry. So I figured that my hair is pretty long and I could probably even cut up to a foot off and still have it come to my shoulders. I called my cousin, Nicole, and asked her the details of donating your hair to Locks of Love. She filled me in and then offered to do it as well.

Yesterday was the day. Dylan & I packed up and headed back home to visit a couple people and then meet Nicole to get my hair cut. Dylan played with Aunt Joan & a large stash of the twin's toys with Nicole cut Mommy's hair. I was ready...for anything, haha. I honestly expected to cry but I didn't. It actually didn't bother me at all. I admit I was a little nervous but Nicole also admitted to being nervous since she was cutting off such a long pony tail, LOL.

I DID IT!

A special Thank You to my wonderful, beautiful & talented cousin, Nicole!

Before/After Picture

Oh yeah...So I haven't decided on a "hairstyle" yet and for now decided to just cut it at one length. You know...get used to this short hair thing, haha. But honestly, I haven't really thought of any good ideas yet either. So if you have any suggestions on what might look cute, let me know. Til next time, lol.

For Grandpa Gray...

There is a commercial that we see almost every Sunday, during the Supercross breaks, of Ryan Villapoto. In the commercial he talks about how his whole family rides motocross bikes and says his dad...and even his grandfather still ride. Every time I see this commercial, it reminds me of Dylan, Jeff, and Grandpa Gray, lol. So this video is for you Grandpa Gray! Dylan is practicing and in a few more years (hopefully longer for Mom's sake), he can join you guys riding on Sundays.

This video was taken this morning shortly after he woke up & Daddy left for work.  He starts early, lol.  Daddy bought Dylan this 4 wheeler when he was very very little.  Over the past year and a half, Dylan has learned how to get on & off, go backward, and now forward as well.  Last weekend, he also attempted his first wheelie.  He leaned back, pulled up on the handlebars, and then laughed like crazy.  Great!  Now Mom can officially start worrying, lol.

Alphabet Soup

One random day, Dylan and I decided to go out to just get out of the house. We had a little bit of money that we could spend so we decided to go shopping, lol. We were orginally going to buy some new, bigger PJs for the monkey.

While we were at Target, we saw some foam letters to play with in the bathtub. Dylan had some cool toys for the bathtub but they were getting pretty played out, so we decided to get him something new & interesting.

These letters actually stick to the sides of the tub when the are wet which I figured would provide great entertainment, lol. I was correct. Dylan loves playing with all of the letters!

When Dylan dumps the whole bag of letters in the tub and they are all floating around him, it kind of looks like he is bathing in Alphabet Soup with a dash of Dylan, lol.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

Laughing With Daddy

This is just a quick, cute video of the two boys being goofy together. Dylan's laugh is pretty hilarious in itself, haha.

Mr. Mockingbird

Yesterday, Dylan was my little mockingbird. Every word that I said, he at least attempted to say. If I said a whole sentence, he repeated the last word of the sentence. I seriously thought I had a little parrot on my hands, haha. So after repeating everything that I said all morning, I decided to grab the camera to see if he would continue his mockingbird routine, lol. Here are a few clips. Enjoy!

First of all, Dylan's favorite song is a "Parts of the Face" song with Elmo & Ernie. He loves to try to sing along and point to the parts as they sing. It started out with just a few things here and there but quickly picked up more than I even realized, lol.

This video is just a few of the words that Dylan can say. One random day, I was cleaning up the kitchen and Dylan came out with a book in his hand. He opened the book, flipped it to a particular page, pointed at the picture, and said "giraffe." It seems like he picks up new words everyday!

Even if a word is brand new to him, Dylan now makes attempts at repeating just about anything that you say, lol. They usually aren't completely correct or clear but he definitely gives it a try. He has also mastered quite a few words as well, lol.

Dylan also tries to make animal sounds now. My favorite is the pig, lol. Even though it doesn't sound like an "oink," his face is priceless, LOL.

Everyone knows that this bunny has been through just about everything. Dylan takes this thing everywhere and loves it a lot!

The boy is constantly talking now and trying new words all the time. All the words that he knows are getting more and more clear. He is also constantly adding more and more words to his vocabulary. Like I said before, it seems like he picks up new words every day! I'm already starting to miss the days of quiet, LOL.

Yay for the Spring-like weather!

Today was an absolutely beautiful day.  It was so warm outside that I (always cold Brandi) didn't even have a jacket on!  I'm not sure how warm it actually got but boy did it finally feel like Spring.  Unfortunately, it is not supposed to last for very long.  Dylan & I decided to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasted.

Dylan & I went to a cute, clean park that is not too far from our house.  I actually just found out that this park existed not too long ago.  It has all kinds of play gyms, slides, swings, etc to entertain any age.  We went to the park on Thursday even though the wind was a little chilly.  Dylan didn't seem to mind too much.  He has his coat on & ran around constantly, lol.  He had such a blast playing that when it was time to leave, this is what I got, lol.

I promised Dylan that we would go back to the park soon as long as the weather was nice.  Friday rolls around and like I mentioned earlier, it was absolutely beautiful outside.  So instead of doing some household chores, we decided to pack up and head back to the park to play!!!  It was too nice to waste the day inside!  When we first got to the park, there were not too many children there.  There was a little 15 month old boy that seemed intrigued by Dylan.  They got along really well and decided to play together.  It was quite adorable.  So Dylan made another little friend who we promised to come back to play with soon, lol!  After the schools let out, the park started to fill up with kids of all ages and Dylan was not shy at all!

It took no time at all for Dylan to be brave enough to climb the little jungle gyms all by himself and finally worked up the courage to go down the slide all by himself.  He used to always want to hold my hand as he slide down, lol.  After he went down the slide by himself for the first time, he let our a roar of laughter and immediately climbed the steps to repeat.  Needless to say, he had an absolute blast climbing, playing, & socializing all day.  We can't wait for the weather to stay nice now that we know about this "gem" of a park so that we can go play all the time!

Here are a couple more videos from Dylan playing at the playground. I wish I would have taken some video on Friday when it was much nicer but I left my camera at home (sad face), lol.

Playing on the BIG bed

Dylan is all about helping Mom with some random chores around the house. This day, we were doing some chores in Mommy & Daddy's bedroom. Dylan decided that he was going to "help" me make the bed. First he pulled off all of the pillows, comforter, and sheet. Well...that was a lot of work so he decided to take a little play break, lol. Jeff & I finally bought a new bed last year which was a long time coming. We decided that if we were going to shell out the money for a new bed, we might as well make it an awesome one. We now have a very big & very very comfortable king size bed. This might be the only thing that can make Dylan look little again, lol. So here is goofy boy playing on the big bed!

Oh yeah, I wanted to explain the brush, lol. So for some unknown reason, Dylan is obsessed with my brush. Every single time that we go upstairs (and if my bedroom door is open) Dylan sprints for the master bathroom and grabs the brush off of the counter. Some times he actually uses it for it's intended purpose, lol. However, most of the time, he just carries it around with him. It's funny when you think about the kinds of things that little ones like to play with. Most of the time, they are regular household items that they see you using all the time, lol. Not to mention, the toy versions of anything like this don't measure up to the real deal "adult" version, haha.
